Opponents and supporters of infiltrators in southern Tel Aviv are cooperating in a fight against the municipality's efforts to build a school on the grounds of Levinsky Park, which would demolish the only playground in the neighborhood, according to Galei Tzahal radio.
A letter sent by the neighborhood committee to the municipality reads, "The decision was brought to our attention by chance when one of the neighborhood residents met city employees who surveyed the area for school construction work. There appears to have been an attempt to hide this information from the public and if we hadn't encountered these surveyors, we would not have known a thing." The letter added, "We are not opposed to the establishment of schools, but that does not mean that the need for educational institutions allows the demolition of the only real green public space left in the most crowded neighborhood in Tel Aviv with the highest air pollution rate in the country."
