Members of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation on Tuesday checked the stability of the Western Wall's stones, including the covered Wilson's Arch and the wall of the Mahachkama Building, for the Tishrei holidays.
During the inspection, the workers cleaned the wall of various objects that birds bring, as well as removing loose pieces of stone and plaster from the stones. Weeds were removed and even a bird's nest was relocated, allowing the workers to observe the command of the "sending the mother bird from the nest" (Deuteronomy 22:6-7).
