Chairman Arnon Bar-David of the Histadrut Labor Federation has eulogized former Histadrut secretary-general Yisrael Kessar, saying, "Kessar, one of the last generation of the giants, was and will remain a guide to many workers' leaders."
Bar-David added, "He blossomed from the bottom and always felt the heartbeat of the Israeli public. The heritage of values he left behind and the fruits of the struggles that led to the protection of the dignity of the working man will continue to illuminate the Histadrut's path and resonate in its work for Israeli society."
