The "Headstone" chief-of-staff exercise, which simulates a multi-front combat scenario with emphasis on the northern area, began on Sunday at the headquarters of the Israel Defense Forces and is scheduled to run until Wednesday.

The purpose of the exercise, planned in advance as part of the 2019 training program, is to improve the capability of the general staff and headquarters for war, involving regular and reserve soldiers. It will coordinate the Home Front Command and the IDF'S air, sea and land forces, along with the intelligence, technology and logistics divisions and the cyber division.
