BBC News reported that following the leaking of a recording where Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam was heard saying "If I had a choice, the first thing I would do is quite",the Chief Executive denied having tendered her resignation to Beijing, but has not denied the authenticity of the recordings.
This comes as Hong Kong has been racked by weeks of protests and civil unrest.
