Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz participated in a ceremony on Monday marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Israel, which also featured the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta.
Minister Katz met with Swiss his counterpart Ignazio Cassis will meet on Tuesday morning with Swiss President Ueli Maurer. Against the backdrop of a report that former prime minister Ehud Olmert canceled a flight to Zurich over fear of arrest, Katz made it clear to Cassis "The State of Israel will not accept a situation where anyone doubts our right to self-defense against the extreme Islamic terrorist threats we face, and will threaten to take steps against former or current Israeli leaders and military personnel."
