A senior French diplomat has confirmed to Maariv that French President Emmanuel Macron is continuing his efforts to organize a meeting between United States President Donald Trump and Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani on the issue of the nuclear agreement between the powers and the Islamic Republic.
According to the source, the summit would take place during the upcoming General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. On Monday, an Iranian government spokesman said Rouhani might meet with Trump if such a meeting serves Iran's interests.
