The Likud Party has used the words "particularly puzzling" to describe Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit's legal opinion that there is no place for the party's petition demanding that transcripts from the corruption investigations of Prime Minister and Party Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu not be further disclosed.

A party statement noted, "Only five months ago, he issued an opposite opinion, stating that transfer of investigation materials in cases related to the prime minister should be delayed until after the election, fearing that the evidence would find their way into the media and be published during an election period."
