On the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II this morning, Polish Ambassador to Israel Marek Magierowski told Reshet Bet about the part of Poles in the war: "I don't deny that there were Poles who did bad things. But Poles and Jews have a common history of a millennium. I attended a memorial service for the Bialystok Rebellion. The mayor said there was a blood covenant between us."
On anti-Semitism in Europe today, the ambassador said: "There is no denying that there is such a problem in Poland. But if you look at other EU countries then you see that the percentage of anti-Semitic incidents in Poland is very small."
