Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to launch an operation in northeastern Syria if a safe zone along the Syrian-Turkish border does not meet expectations.
Erdogan's demands include allowing Turkish soldiers to control the area, and he gave the US up to three weeks to fulfill the requirements.
"If our soldiers do not start to control the area actively, we will have no choice but to activate our own operational plans," Erdogan told graduates of an Istanbul military academy.
