Members of the Histadrut Hamorim teachers' union have scheduled a demonstration for Tuesday in front of the Tel Aviv Museum in protest of the "plague of sickness and pension robbery."
The union claims that the Ministry of Finance is not advancing negotiations with it and prefers "to take its time." Union leader Yaffa Ben David said, Monday, six days before the scheduled start of the school year, "We are not afraid to fight for the rights of teaching staff and we will do so in every way we can. Where's the prime minister? Why doesn't he worry about the school year opening up?"
