A 56-year-old woman was bitten by a viper snake in the Samaria Regional Council's yard. MDA paramedics evacuated her to Beilinson Hospital in stable condition with bite marks on her hand.

MDA emergency medical officer Alex Romov said, "We saw the woman in the yard fully conscious with bite marks on hand. We saw the snake in a cage in the yard and she told us she was caring for animals in the yard when the snake bit her.

We took her to the ambulance and then to hospital. Because we saw the snake and knew it was viper, I put a call through to the MDA 101 call center to inform hospital to prepare for our arrival with the antidote serum she needed to receive."
