A new Fatwa (Muslim legal ruling) bans Muslim women who have been beaten by their husbands to complain about them to the Israel Police, according to journalist Yoni Ben Menachem.
Sheikh Ekrima Sa'id Sabri, former mufti of Jerusalem and currently a clergyman at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, published the verdict. The ruling has raised the ire of Muslim residents of Jerusalem.
