Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau has instructed a Hevra Kadisha burial society not to allow Tuesday's burial of the mother of a man who refuses to give his wife a get (religious writ of divorce), according to Channel 13 News.
The refuser is a hasidic resident of the United States, who has been refusing for more than a decade. A rabbinical court in the US issued a "refusal letter", in order to pressure him to give the divorce.
