The Victims of Crime Department of the Honenu legal-aid organization is demanding a police investigation of an incident during the recent Tisha B'Av fast, when an Arab allegedly smashed a bottle on the head of an 18-year-old Jew who was participating in a march around the gates of Jerusalem's Old City.

The victim needed stitches at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital to stop the resulting bleeding but police investigators did not take a statement from him nor was any update received regarding investigative actions or the arrest of the attacker. After he was released from hospital, the boy youth went to complain and testify at the Samaria Police. Honenu attorney Haim Bleicher noted police were on the scene to separate the victim and other marchers from the attackers and that the incident was captured by a number of cameras.
