Police refer to the incident in which Tiberias Mayor Ron Kobe had to be removed from the event for the Haredi public in Afula.
"An elected official who enters the complex with the intention of provoking was expelled by Israeli police officers, who were present at the time, after his appearance at the scene prompted reactions from the public and raised fears of a deterioration into violence and harm to public peace," the police statement said.
