Deputy Jerusalem Mayor Chagit Moshe strengthens the opposition by Shas representatives to the forced compromise offered by the court in Afula regarding public gender-separate events.
Moshe noted that the Jerusalem Municipality will hold a series of events in the coming weeks, with full gender separation between men and women. Among other things, the Tu B'Av celebrations will be held in Ein Yael for women only and from September only women's theater will be run.
"A war is underway over the Jewish character of the State as there are forces constantly trying to nibble away at the Jewish image of the State. It is the right of the public to hold events and ceremonies while maintaining their way of life, including gender separation," said Moshe.
