The temporary Knesset Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense has approved a ban on boating within a radius of 1.5 nautical miles (approximately 2.8 km) from the Leviathan natural gas platforms.
The ban will not apply to the Israel Defense Forces, Israel Police, the rig's rights holders and its service providers.
