Early Monday morning, a unique experiment was conducted during acrobats Sergei Klimkin and Tania Plasner broke an Israeli record when they decided that the best way to take advantage of a heavenly show was to hang under a hot-air balloon at an altitude of 7,000-feet (2.13 km) and perform complex acrobatic exercises while harnessed to a safety rope.
The altitude was a record for a pair of acrobats in Israel. Management of the International Hot-Air Balloon Festival on Thursday and Friday in the Gilboa and Habesor (Eshkol) Parks is now checking with editors of the Guinness Book of Records to see if it is a world record.
