The official value of the shekel rose an average of .008 percent on Monday, despite gains by most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.
The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.484, up .144 percent from Friday, while the Euro rose .203 percent to 3.9008 shekels and the pound sterling was set at 4.2158 shekels, down .04 percent. The Japanese yen jumped .926 percent, 100 yen buying 3.3139 shekels. The currency has risen 2.8 percent against the shekel since the end of July.
