Hasidic singer Motti Steinmetz has canceled a performance scheduled for Wednesday in Afula's municipal park, following the Nazareth District Court's decision not to allow gender-separate seating at the haredi-religious event.
Honoring the ruling, the Afula municipality responded, "Out of 360 summer events, the authority sought to produce an event for the haredi public to celebrate and enjoy according to its customs. We are sorry that was not possible."
