The Water Authority has made it clear to water companies that replacing water meters on their own initiative with meters permitted for use on Shabbat must be done at no cost. In the event that a new client is on the property, the replacement charge will be 212 shekels.
In the event of a connection to a new property (such as a new building, a new apartment in TAMA, etc.), the addition will only be for the property and in any case will not exceed NIS 150. The directive followed recent inquiries to Member of Knesset Uri Maklev about the water company in Kiryat Ata charging NIS 900 for the service, contrary to a recently-passed law.
