The official value of the shekel rose an average of .415 percent on Monday against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.
The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.494, down .427 percent from Friday, while the Euro rose .239 percent to 3.9001 shekels and the pound sterling was set at 4.245 shekels, down .179 percent. The Swiss franc rose .957 percent to NIS 3.5866, its highest level against the Euro since June 2017 on Monday as investors piled into safe-haven currencies, after trade tensions between the US and China escalated, bringing down the yuan. The Australian dollar fell .959 percent to 2.3645 shekels.
