A three-judge Supreme Court panel, including Chief Justice Esther Hayut and Vice President Hanan Melcer, issued a show-cause order this weekend to the interior minister, the Commissioner of Israeli localities in Judea and Samaria, and the Binyamin, Samaria and Gush Etzion to explain within 45 days "why it is has not been determined" that Amana housing organization for the region is not eligible for support under the Support Procedure for Public Institutions by Local Authorities since it is not a public institution, and does not fit the criteria for support.
The order was issued in response to a petition filed by the Peace Now movement and several major activists in the movement, in an attempt to harm Amana's activities.
