While serving as part of the Blue and White leadership, Telem Party chairman Moshe Yaalon prepared a contingency plan for running his own party in the elections, according to the Yisrael Hayom newspaper.

Telem was on a recently-released Central Election Commission list of 42 parties that have applied for registration forms. The reason for the move was probably the growing tension between Ya'alon and No. 2 in Blue and White, Chairman Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid Party. Ya'alon chose respond through Blue and White, stating that Blue and White presented an impressive team in the last election, and is busy replacing the governmentin power."
