If the elections were held today, the New Right Party would win eight Knesset seats, compared to five before former justice minister Ayelet Shaked was named party chairman, according to a poll by the Midgam (Sampling) Institute, published today on the Walla! website.
The poll was conducted before the announcement of the union between Meretz, Israel Democratic and Labor Knesset member Stav Shaffir, and shows Israel Democratic not passing the threshold for entering the Knesset. The Labor Party plus Gesher and Orly Levy-Abeksis would win two mandates. Both Likud and Blue and White are currently standing on top at 29, compared to 30 in the previous poll, neither party being able to form a coaltion at this point.
