Labor Party Chairman Amir Peretz said, Tuesday, "The nurses' strike is a struggle for our lives. The burden that the nurses are required to work under, the disregard for their working conditions and their wages, is contempt for human life."
Peretz added that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, "who is also the health minister, must understand that the collapsing health system is his absolute responsibility and to internalize the fact that escaping responsibility is not the solution." The former Histadrut Labor Federation chairman concluded, "The nurses' struggle is the spearhead of the entire social struggle, and we will restore the national responsibility for health, education and welfare, and we will stop the social abandonment."
