Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, during a live broadcast on Facebook, "We will extend to [Ambassador to the United States] Ron Dermer's stay by at least a year. He is doing amazing work at the most important embassy in the world and he will continue to do so."
Channel 12 News reported that the Civil Service Commissioner rejected a request by Netanyahu to extend Dermer's term but a source close to the matter told the Jerusalem Post that the cabinet would approve the extension.
