Former US Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens passed away on Tuesday at the age of 99.
Stevens, who was nominated to the Supreme Court by Republican President Gerald Ford in 1975 in the wake of Watergate, stepped down in 2010. He was known as a leader for the liberal side of the bench.
