An unknown manuscript of one of the Hassidic giants, Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sasov, a disciple of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk and rabbi of the "Holy Jew" of Peshischa, was exposed in recent weeks in Jerusalem and is due to be auctioned tomorrow (Wednesday).

This is one of the only manuscripts in the world of Rabbi Moshe Leib. His grandson Rabbi Nehemiah Shapira explained about 100 years ago the reason for the rarity of his grandfather's writings. "The paper he wrote about him ... and the ink were not good at all, and his handwriting was fine, because of the use by many people who touch it when the proper way to treat such documents is to keep it from touching it, especially with unclean hands. The handwriting will be blurred and torn, and over time it will be so spoiled that there is almost no single speech left untouched. "
