Shas Chairman Deri asked UTJ leaders to hold an urgent and joint discussion following the breaking of the status quo on Shabbat in various cities.
"I want to hold an urgent discussion between us, representatives of Shas and United Torah Judaism, to formulate a joint position on how to deal with the new situation. The position is brought to the Rabbis, members of the Council of Torah Sages, who will guide us the way to go and the deed that is to be done.
"It is important that this be done jointly and in a single voice to properly present the position of haredi Jewry in the situation that has arisen."
