The firefighters of the Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem stations obtained control of the fire in the hills of Jerusalem and prevented damage to the houses of Kibbutz Maaleh Hahamisha and the spread of fire towards the homes of the town of Har Adar.
Firefighting commander Reuven Yitzhak, who arrived at the site of the fire, ordered an investigation into the fire. Among the directions examined by firefighters investigators was the suspicion of an arsonist from the nearby village of Qatana.
