Minister of Economics and Industry Eli Cohen addressed the parents' protest this morning, saying: "Reducing the age of the State's responsibility for toddlers from the age of 3 to one year is not a luxury, but rather the order of the day."

"On the one hand, it will make it easier for the working parents financially, and on the other hand it will significantly increase the number of supervised frameworks for children up to the age of 3, now only 30 percent of them under supervision. The time has come to make order - to reduce regulation in places where it is not necessary and enact it in places that it is, like in child daycare centers. The qualifications and professionalism of all those who seek to deal in child daycare centers must be checked in depth. It is not possible that in order to be an apartment broker, there is a requirement for a license but to take care of infants, there is no need for examination or experience. Our children are not up -for-grabs - in that the parents are correct."
