Security forces thwarted an attempt Wednesday by an Israeli driver to smuggle thousands of boxes of cigarettes and hookah tobacco from Palestinian Authority-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria into Israel proper.
The driver, a resident of Pardes Hanna, arrived at the lane for the passage of Israeli vehicles at the Reihan crossing. The driver aroused the suspicion of the examiners at the crossing, and when they opened the trunk of her car, they discovered 335 cigarette packs and 28 kilograms of hookah tobacco. The suspect was transferred to the Police for further investigation.
