Sources in the Labor Party say that Amir Peretz's election as the leader of the party will lead to cutting of ties with other parties and that he would prefer to lead the party and rehabilitate it.
According to the same sources, Peretz's goal is to get Ehud Barak to agree to be number two in the party.
