In a post on twitter, Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Edelstein congratulated MK Amir Peretz on Twitter, writing:
"I congratulate Amir Peretz on his election to head the Labor Party. The importance of democratic elections is reinforced by the multiplicity of one-man political parties. I call upon the citizens of Israel on the right and the left to support the parties that carry out a democratic process within their parties."
