Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman slammed the political leadership of religious Zionism.
"What is happening to religious Zionism is a Greek tragedy. I was friendly with the late Zevulun Hammer and with Yitzhak Levy. There is nothing in common between the historic Mafdal (National Religious Party) and the Jewish Home or the National Union, between Zevulun Hammer and Bezalel Smotrich. "
"This is the takeover of a small Hardal fanatical group that expresses the hypocrisy in Israeli politics over religious Zionism as a whole. I hope it will end. I want to see the historic Mafdal and not the Hardal," Liberman said at the Herzliya Conference.
