The incoming State Comptroller, Matanyahu Engelman, stated that the comptroller must refrain from intervening in decision-making processes.
"The independence of the comptroller is a badge of honor for Israel, but it is important to distinguish between the role of the comptroller and the decision-making process that must be conducted by the decision-makers," he said in the Knesset plenum after his swearing in.
