Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, responded to the announcement yesterday on Channel 12 about difficulties in negotiations between Zehut and the New Right.
"The connection between Zehut and the New Right is a true connection that could later constitute the nucleus of the new Israeli Republican Party - a coherent combination of nationalism and liberalism, identity and liberty."
"As far as I'm concerned, the crux of the dispute is not who will lead, but what will lead - my clear vision, or Naftali's rich political experience - in my opinion, in the directionless Israeli reality - the answer is clear. Handing the public the question for a quick decision via open primaries is the correct way that will bolster the power of a joint run."
Feiglin added that "the placing of an ultimatum is not our path, and we regret that this was the way things were presented in the media, but the window of opportunity for the primaries is about to close and it is right that the public knows this. I call on my friend Naftali Bennett, whose qualities I have recently merited to come to know, to bring this message together to Israel as well."
