Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu's meeting with Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich and the professional bodies ended with a delay in the evacuation of Sde Dov.
Smotrich presented the prime minister with the outline for delaying the evacuation of the airport until finding optimal solutions for the residents of Eilat. The professionals presented the legal and budgetary difficulties in their opinion in the outline presented.
It was reported that the prime minister would decide the issue within the next day.
Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, "I believe in the outline presented and think that it is possible to leave the airway open."
"In any case, and in any decision we make, we will stand by the residents of Eilat and we will do our utmost to minimize the damage to the residents of Eilat and the periphery," he said.
