Interior Minister Aryeh Deri signed an order to change the name of Natzeret Illit to Nof Hagalil. "I'm convinced the beautiful city of Nof Hagalil will continue to prosper and develop for the welfare of its residents," said Deri.
Nof Hagalil Mayor Ronen Plut initiated a referendum among city residents regarding a change in the city's name. Most of the residents supported changing the name. The process of changing the name began with the approval of the Government Names Committee and ended by Minister Deri signing the order.
