Hamas has issued an official statement rejecting the United States peace plan for Israel and the Palestinian Authority, as well as this week's conference in Bahrain to discuss the economic portion of the plan. The organization called on Bahrain and other countries to cancel their participation in the conference and Palestinian Authority organizations to raise the level of readiness for "a confrontation against the plot, which will include a general strike on Tuesday and popular actions," stressing its adherence to armed struggle.
In addition, Hamas warned against applying Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, saying, "The movement continues its struggle, adheres to the right of the Palestinian people in all of Palestine, with no recognition of the 'occupation' and its presence on even one inch of the land of Palestine."
