The destruction of the Arthur Vasermil Municipal Stadium, which served the city's soccer teams and athletics clubs for many years, began this evening.
The facility was replaced by Turner Stadium in 2015. After the demolition, a neighborhood of 2,300 housing units will be built on the site of the old stadium.
