Member of Knesset Amir Peretz (Labor) has demanded an emergency meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in light of the escalation of arson-balloon attacks in the Gaza vicinity.
The former committee member and defense minister said, "The south is burning, the balloon terror is a real threat to the [Gaza] vicinity fields and it's only due to a miracle that it has not caused any casualties, and the defense minister continues to conduct a daily tactic or at most a week, and is not formulating a strategy that will change the harsh reality in the [Gaza] vicinity. The helplessness in creating a long-term solution opposite Gaza requires the intervention of the Knesset."
