Former prime minister Ehud Olmert showed no enthusiasm on Sunday about the economic portion of United States President Donald Trump's peace plan for Israel and the Palestinian Authority, in which he plans to invest $28 billion in the Palestinian Authority and Gaza, with another $22 billion for Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon.

Interviewed by 103FM Radio, Olmert said, "It's about raising money with bonds. It's not an allocation from the US Treasury." He added, "The Americans will guarantee them in one way or another and maybe other countries will join. It involves complex regulatory approvals." He also said, "There is no connection to peace, no chance that anyone will see it as a substitute or a platform for an agreement."
