Deputy State Prosecutor Nurit Littman has told former Breaking the Silence spokesperson Dean Issacharoff that after considering all the testimonies that were gathered in the investigation of the alleged illegal beating of a Palestinian Authority resident, the State Attorney decided that there was no reason to change the decision to shelve the file in his case.
The analysis of the testimonies indicates that the incident described occurred in an operational situation in which a man who threw stones and refused to be handcuffed was arrested in a hostile area, where disturbances continued and a quick response was required. The use of force, according to all the testimonies of the soldiers, was therefore essential for the purpose of carrying out the arrest.
