Ethiopian Prime Minister Abay Ahmed announced Sunday night that the government had arrested a coup attempt in the country.
In his statement, he said Chief-of-Staff Sira Mkonen was shot dead in his home in Addis Ababa by his bodyguard while an armed group tried to seize power.
