Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, told the annual Jerusalem Post Conference in New York on Sunday, "We see the rise of anti-Semitism from our neighbors and our leaders. Public officials that engage in this bigotry must be condemned and isolated, and they should not remain in office. We must fight this anti-Semitism wherever it occurs, and no one is immune."
Danon continued: "In ten days, on June 26, we will convene a special session of the General Assembly to fight against anti-Semitism. The UN is talking about anti-Semitism because we will not be quiet while we see rampant anti-Semitism in Europe, in the US, and around the world. It is the responsibility of all countries to protect their Jewish citizens. We are not in a post-anti-Semitism era, but I am optimistic that we can get there. We will confront, we will challenge, and we will not be silenced."
