The Director-General of the Ministry of Construction and Housing has presented a new outline for infrastructure tenders, under which the Ministry will participate in the safety components of competitive bids when a contractor cannot give a discount.
Responding to increasing incidents of building-site accidents - a number of them fatal, the Ministry decided to establish a comprehensive and in-depth task force with the participation of all the relevant parties in order to propose a solution that will ensure that the safety component in the tenders meets the highest standards.
