Achievement for Israel: Under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) today overwhelmingly rejected the request of the Palestinian-Lebanese organization 'Shahad' to receive the status of an observer organization in t UN institutions.
The decision initiated by the Israeli delegation to the United Nations against the granting of the status was adopted overwhelmingly by the members of the Socio-Economic Council.
Shahad is a Palestinian organization based in Lebanon that claims to deal with human rights and humanitarian issues, but in practice, it is an organization declared in Israel as a terrorist organization and operating as a Hamas arm in Lebanon.
